We arrived in Belgium during Christmastime. In some ways bad… nobody works during the holidays which means we couldn’t get cable or internet set up. It also meant that, although we got our loaner washer and dryer dropped off, the dryer came without a lint trap so it was unusable for the next two weeks. Also no registering for schools, no drivers licenses, etc. Arriving at Christmastime was also good. Ben didn’t have to work! And Christmas Markets! Most bigger towns in Europe have a market for weeks around the holidays filled with stands selling hot chocolate, hot wine, hot waffles among many other things. The little stands usually surround an ice rink. The kids wanted to skate so off we went one morning! Lots of falling, lots of holding hands and waffles afterwards!
